YouTube mom Ruby Franke pleads guilty in child abuse case
Ruby Franke, a Utah mother of six, known for giving parenting advice on YouTube, has pleaded guilty to child abuse charges. She was accused of convincing her two youngest children they were evil and possessed, requiring punishment to repent. The charges Franke pleaded guilty to include torturing her son by forcing him into strenuous physical tasks, denying him food and isolating him from others. She also admitted to abusing her 9-year-old daughter in similar ways. Co-defendant Jodi Hildebrandt was accused of taking advantage of Franke’s quest for constant improvement and twisting it into something heinous. Both Franke and Hildebrandt were arrested on August 30, and Franke’s four youngest children were taken into state custody.
