Young man killed by hit-and-run driver on 6th Street Bridge
23-year-old Nathan “Nate” Franklin was killed by a hit-and-run driver on the 6th Street Bridge near Boyle Heights last month. The driver and two other individuals sped off in a white Dodge Ram truck after hitting Franklin, who was riding his dirt bike. Franklin’s family was only notified days after the accident and ultimately decided to take him off life support. The Los Angeles Police Department is hopeful that surveillance cameras on the bridge captured the perpetrators. In the meantime, Franklin’s friends and family are raising money for his funeral and to support his grandmother through a GoFundMe campaign.
