Winter storm in US forecast to bring dangerous temperatures, weather

Meteorologists predict a severe winter storm in the US, with heavy snow expected from the Great Lakes to the Northeast and from the Cascades through the Central Rockies. Blizzard warnings are in effect for areas including the Dakotas, northwest Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Road conditions in eastern Nebraska, northern Illinois, and Wisconsin are reportedly dangerous due to heavy snowfall, causing power outages for about 500,000 households. The Salt Lake City National Weather Service predicts “impressive snowfall” for parts of Utah and Wyoming, whilst the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions could see heavy rain and potential flooding. Additionally, arctic air from Western Canada is expected to spread across the Northwest and Northern Plains, bringing record-cold temperatures.
