Wife of slain Austin jeweler says daughter-in-law Jaclyn Edison got away with murder
Jaclyn Edison was found sitting outside an Austin, Texas jail after serving time for her part in a 2018 murder plot that ended the life of affluent jeweler Ted Shaughnessy and almost killed his wife Corey. Edison was sentenced to 120 days behind bars and 10 years of probation for her role in the plot, which was orchestrated by her then-high school sweetheart, Nicolas Shaughnessy, the couple’s son. The couple allegedly planned the murder with the aim of inheriting the Shaughnessys’ wealth and hired two hitmen to carry out the crime. While the two hitmen and Nicolas Shaughnessy pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of murder and were each sentenced to 35 years in prison, Edison’s lighter sentence has been criticized as a dismissal of the victim’s life.
