Why UPenn President Liz Magill is facing more pressure than other university presidents over antisemitism

University of Pennsylvania President, Liz Magill, is facing intense criticism over her response to campus antisemitism. The controversy has been fueled by Magill and her administration allowing speakers known for making antisemitic remarks to participate in a campus event. Magill, along with the Presidents of Harvard and MIT, appeared before a House committee to discuss campus antisemitism, failing to unequivocally condemn calls for the genocide of Jews, depending on circumstances and conduct. Magill’s approach to the controversy, which aimed to satisfy both sides, has only added to her critics, leading to calls for her resignation.
