White House warns Congress the US is out of money, nearly out of time to avoid ‘kneecap’ to Ukraine
The Biden administration has warned Congress about the urgent need to approve tens of billions of dollars in military and economic assistance to Ukraine, as the country may struggle to defend itself from Russia’s invasion without it. Office of Management and Budget Director, Shalanda Young, advised that the U.S. will run out of funding to send weapons and assistance to Ukraine by the end of the year. Additionally, she revealed that the U.S. is already out of money used to support Ukraine’s economy. President Biden has sought a nearly $106 billion aid package for Ukraine, facing resistance in Congress. Currently, the GOP-controlled House has passed an assistance package for Israel, but not for Ukraine.
