What Florida laws are going into effect on Jan. 1, 2024?

Several new laws are coming into effect in Florida in 2024, including changes to driving rules and public spending. The “Move Over” traffic law will be expanded, requiring drivers to move over or slow down to avoid any vehicle stopped on the roadside, not just emergency vehicles. A law will be enforced to discourage businesses in the state from entering into deals with Iran due to its support of Hamas. There will be a back-to-school tax-free holiday from Jan 1-14, allowing consumers to save on electronics, clothes, school supplies, and learning aids. A law will be in place allowing Florida residents to reserve a campsite one month before nonresidents. Another law will require each county courthouse to provide at least one dedicated lactation space.
