Vigil planned for Garland teen shooting victim
A 15-year-old boy, Russell Deangelo Jefferson, was shot and killed in Garland, Texas. The suspect, 18-year-old Cesar Rocha, was arrested on suspicion of murder and is held on a $1 million bond. According to an arrest affidavit, the victim had arranged to confront Rocha for a drug deal, and a witness reported that Jefferson had pulled a gun on Rocha first. Rocha, who says he was in the car with his teenage girlfriend and a toddler, allegedly fired three to four shots at the victim before discarding his gun into the Trinity River. Jefferson was a star football player at South Garland High School.
