Victor Wembanyama celebrates French program during surprise visit to school
San Antonio Spurs rookie sensation, Victor Wembanyama, surprised students at the International School of San Antonio during the presentation of a plaque for its official LabelFrancÉducation accreditation. The accreditation acknowledges the school’s excellence in its elementary French program and permits the institution to hire teachers directly from France while availing numerous French teaching and professional development resources. Wembanyama, a native of France, presented the plaque along with Valerie Bararan, the Consul General of France in Houston. San Antonio Mayor, Ron Nirenberg, also received a signed jersey from the NBA athlete. The International School of San Antonio is the only school in Texas offering language immersion in French, Spanish, and Chinese from preschool through elementary school.
