US announces visa bans after warning Israel over West Bank violence
The U.S. has started implementing visa bans on individuals associated with violence in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to Washington officials. The new State Department visa restriction policy targets people believed to have disturbed peace, security, or stability in the West Bank. Secretary of State Antony Blinken highlighted the need for Israeli officials to take more action against extremist violence towards Palestinians. Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, responded by stating that only Israeli authorities have the right to use violence. The U.S. stresses the need for both Israeli and Palestinian leaders to curb violence in the West Bank.
