UPenn Board of Trustees Chair Scott Bok resigns, following departure of President Liz Magill

The University of Pennsylvania Board of Trustees Chair, Scott Bok, has resigned following the resignation of President Liz Magill. Bok stated he felt it was the right time for him to depart, despite being asked to remain to help with the presidential transition. Vice Chair, Julie Platt, has been named interim chair but will step down once a successor is chosen due to her existing commitment as Board Chair of the Jewish Federations of North America. Magill’s resignation followed a controversial congressional hearing where she struggled to answer a question concerning the violation of Penn’s code of conduct. She will remain in position until an interim president is appointed.
