Ukrzaliznytsia, the Ukrainian railway company, has pledged not to increase the prices for domestic passenger transportation. The announcement comes from Oleksandr Shevchenko, the head of passenger communications of the company. He stated that the recent increase in international ticket prices is necessary to maintain the local prices. In 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia reported carrying 25 million passengers in long-distance trains, restoring pre-war passenger transportation numbers. The company also recorded transporting 2.1 million passengers to Europe.
