Turkish police rescue hostages held at gunpoint for hours in Procter & Gamble plant in Gaza protest
Police have rescued seven hostages from a factory owned by Procter & Gamble in Gebze, Kocaeli province, Turkey. The standoff was initiated by a former employee protesting the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. The attacker demanded a cease-fire in Gaza and the opening of aid routes into the Palestinian region. After a 10-hour negotiation, the hostages were safely rescued and the suspect detained. The assailant, who was also unharmed, was found with two guns and an unspecified ‘device’.
