Trump’s New York fraud trial to wrap up, with millions of dollars on the line

The New York business fraud trial involving former President Donald Trump is nearing its conclusion, with final arguments to be made by his lawyers and state attorneys. The court has already found that Trump family members and executives fraudulently inflated assets to secure favourable loans, and the trial will now determine penalties. Trump has attended several days of the trial, and his children have also provided testimony. The New York Attorney General, Letitia James, has suggested a penalty of $370m (£304m) for the Trump family. Judge Arthur Engoron will issue a final written ruling in the case by the end of the month.
