Trump projected to win Republican Nevada caucuses after Haley loses symbolic primary

CBS News reports that former President Donald Trump has won the Nevada Republican caucuses, defeating challenger Ryan Binkley. Despite not appearing on the GOP ballot during Tuesday’s primaries, Trump was the only major candidate on the caucus ballot. Nevada’s Republican Party had chosen to hold its caucuses separately, preventing candidates who participated in the primary from receiving delegates. Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who chose to partake in the primary instead of the caucuses, finished second behind “none of these candidates”. Prior to Nevada’s caucuses, Trump held 33 delegates compared to Haley’s 17, with Nevada allocating a further 26 delegates.
