Trump loses to Biden by six points in new poll
A recent Quinnipiac University poll shows Joe Biden leading Donald Trump by six points among registered voters, 50 to 44 percent, up from a one-point lead in December. Biden’s lead has increased among women voters, with the current standing at 58 to 36 percent, compared to the December figure of 53 to 41 percent. The poll also suggests Biden’s increasing popularity among women voters may be influenced by Trump’s recent order to pay writer E Jean Carroll $83.3m in damages in a defamation trial. The survey also revealed that partisanship remains strong, with 96 percent of Democrats supporting Biden, and 91 percent of Republicans backing Trump. The poll surveyed 1,650 self-identified registered voters nationwide from January 25 to 29.
