Trump Didn’t Even Write His Own Jan. 6 Tweets: Report

During the 2021 Capitol breach, former President Donald Trump was reluctant to call in additional law enforcement to stop the rioters, according to a congressional panel report. It has now been revealed by ABC News that one of Trump’s top aides, Dan Scavino, had to draft his first tweet urging protestors to remain peaceful. Scavino had been interviewed by special counsel Jack Smith’s team as part of the Justice Department‘s probe into Trump’s actions during the event. Despite repeated urging from his team, Trump was reportedly disinterested in putting out more messages on Twitter. Trump’s reluctance and inaction during this period have been subject to extensive scrutiny and investigation.
