Trump appeals Maine 14th Amendment ballot ban

Former President Trump has appealed a decision that disqualified him from Maine’s primary ballot due to the 14th Amendment’s insurrection ban. The case is now in the state court, with a decision required within 20 days. Furthermore, Trump’s name will remain on the ballot until the final judgment. This situation follows a similar case in Colorado, and if appealed by the losing side, the dispute could reach the Supreme Court. Maine and Colorado are currently the only states to have removed Trump’s name from the ballot, although over two dozen challenges have been filed nationwide.
