Trooper Zachary Fink killed in crash while on duty
A Florida Highway Patrol trooper, named Zachary Fink, was killed in a crash during a pursuit on Interstate 95 in St. Lucie County. The incident, deemed a line-of-duty death, occurred when a suspect, driving recklessly, attempted a U-turn that Trooper Fink followed, leading to a collision with an 18-wheeler. The suspect then continued to drive the wrong way on I-95 before crashing and fleeing on foot. After a subsequent manhunt, the suspect was apprehended at 8:06 a.m. Both Trooper Fink and the truck driver lost their lives in the incident.
