Three-alarm fire at Northeast Portland church, two missing
A three-alarm fire broke out at the Word and Spirit Church on Northeast Stanton Street and 62nd Avenue in Portland, Oregon early Sunday morning. According to Portland Fire & Rescue, the fire began in the gym area, leading to the building’s instability and preventing firefighters from entering. Two people are currently reported missing. The fire also spread to a nearby structure. Despite the devastation, firefighters were able to save the church’s sanctuary.
