Former member of the now-banned Opposition Platform for Life (OPZH) and lawyer, Ihor Kyrylenko, is expected to be appointed head of the Committee on Culture at the Kyiv City Council. The decision was registered as urgent and will be considered at the Kyiv City Council session on February 8. Kyrylenko was previously involved in a trial over a controversial book, acting as a lawyer for a pro-Russian politician, Viktor Medvedchuk. Some have expressed disapproval of the decision, citing Kyrylenko’s past affiliations and actions.
