These Houston-area school districts are closing due to arctic cold front

An arctic cold front moving into the Houston area has caused several school districts to close their campuses. Districts including Angleton ISD, Brazosport ISD, Cleveland ISD, and others have announced closures due to potential icy weather and unsafe travel conditions. Some schools have also cancelled after-school activities, while warming centers at certain schools are extending their hours of operation. Pearland ISD is yet to make a decision about school operation based on weather information from the Harris County Director of Hydrologic Operations Division/Meteorologist. More districts are expected to announce their closures in response to the cold front.
