The Ocean City Boardwalk Is About to Get Even Less Fun
Legislators in Ocean City, New Jersey, have imposed a ban on buskers in most parts of the city’s boardwalk. The new rules confine buskers to the business district’s fringes, limiting their performances to specific days and hours, and forbidding them from accepting money directly from people—tips must be left in a stationary container. Furthermore, the permit fees for buskers have been increased fourfold. Violations of these rules can result in a $2,000 fine. The busker ban has received mixed reactions on social media.
