Texas weather: Potential tornadoes and damaging storms target state, including Houston area

The southern US is under threat of another tornado, centered on Texas, which comes less than two weeks after Louisiana and Mississippi were hit by a dozen tornadoes. Severe thunderstorms are expected to begin late Thursday morning across Texas and Oklahoma, moving eastward into Louisiana and Arkansas. The greatest risk of tornadoes is in southeastern Texas, including parts of Houston. Additional severe weather is possible in Louisiana, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle on Friday. Louisiana and Mississippi are currently experiencing the worst drought in the US, which has fueled wildfires; the predicted rainfall is desperately needed in these areas.
