Texas attorney who poisoned pregnant wife with abortion medication sentenced to 180 days in jail
Mason Herring, a Texas attorney, has been sentenced to 180 days in jail after pleading guilty to slipping abortion medication into his pregnant wife’s drinks. His estranged wife, Catherine Herring, expressed dissatisfaction with the sentence, stating that their 1-year-old daughter now has developmental delays and requires therapy sessions eight times a week. According to the Associated Press, Catherine shared that Mason had attempted to kill their child seven times. The couple, who were separated but in couples counseling, had been married for 11 years. Mason Herring was originally charged with felony assault to induce abortion but accepted a plea agreement on charges of injury to a child and assault of a pregnant person.
