Suspect dead after officer-involved shooting in Upper Saint Clair

An incident in Upper Saint Clair, Pennsylvania, led to a fatal officer-involved shooting. The incident began as a domestic situation involving 48-year-old Christopher Shepherd. Shepherd was reportedly seen entering a home and locking all the doors, and he allegedly attempted to cut officers with a knife when they tried to enter through a plywood-covered window. When a family member obtained an involuntary commitment order for Shepherd, he exited the home, approached officers with the knife, and was shot after refusing to follow commands. The Allegheny County Police Department confirmed there was no threat to the public, and are asking individuals with information to call the County Police Tip Line.
