Supreme Court to hear abortion pill case : NPR

The U.S. Supreme Court has decided to review a lower court ruling that could make abortion pill mifepristone less accessible, reigniting the debate around abortion. The dispute started when a U.S. District Judge imposed a nationwide ban on mifepristone, stating that the FDA had improperly approved the drug. However, another judge ruled that the current FDA rules must remain. While the Supreme Court considers the case, the medication will remain available as it has been. The case will be heard this term, with an outcome expected by summer. The key question is whether courts can override a decision by an agency.
