Supreme Court rejects an appeal over bans on conversion therapy for LGBTQ+ children

The US Supreme Court has declined a request to review a case centered around the legality of conversion therapy for LGBTQ+ minors. The case focused on whether state and local governments could establish laws against such therapy. The decision was met with dissent from three of the court’s conservative justices. The case stemmed from an appeal in Washington where the law had been upheld, and a Florida appellate panel had declared local bans unconstitutional. The Supreme Court’s refusal to hear the case comes amid a nationwide push to limit the rights of LGBTQ+ children.
