Sunport unveils new TSA checkpoint area
Albuquerque International Sunport has launched a new, larger TSA checkpoint as part of its $87 million Dream of Flight terminal renovation. The project, which began construction just over a year ago, preserves the airport’s unique southwestern style while providing more efficient security processing. The checkpoint is 50% larger and will have eight lanes operational in the next month and a half. Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller and Sunport’s Director of Aviation, Richard McCurley, emphasized the commitment to maintaining the airport’s unique New Mexican identity, which included commissioning local artists for new installations.
