The newly appointed French Foreign Minister, Stéphane Sejournay, is set to meet with Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky. Initial plans were for Zelensky to meet with the former Foreign Minister, Katrin Kolonna, but recent governmental reshuffles altered these plans. Sejournay’s visit to Kyiv is set to “demonstrate France’s support for Ukraine in the confrontation with Russia”. Earlier this week, Emmanuel Macron, French President, announced Gabriel Attal as the new Prime Minister following the resignation of Elisabeth Borne. Most key ministers retained their positions in the new government, except for the Foreign Minister.
