Special counsel: No charges for Biden in classified documents probe

A report by special counsel Robert K. Hur alleges that President Joe Biden carelessly kept classified documents and notebooks at his home, but that the evidence wasn’t strong enough to charge him with crimes. The 345-page report portrays Biden as having a poor memory, which led to a furious response from the president. The report also claims that Biden disclosed classified materials to his ghost writer post-vice presidency, but concludes that the evidence doesn’t establish Biden’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The investigation concluded without charges, with Biden’s attorney Richard Sauber stating that the president fully cooperated. The report also contrasted Biden’s case with that of former president Donald Trump, who faces allegations of retaining classified documents.
