Southeast winter storm: Travel woes in store as storm wallops South with severe winds, rain and likely tornadoes

A powerful winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, blizzard conditions, flash flooding, heavy rain, and possible tornadoes across the central U.S. and Southeast. The storm, which has already caused travel disruptions in Arizona, is predicted to intensify as it moves across the southern Plains and into the Gulf Coast and Southeast, impacting almost 70 million people. The storm is expected to cover more than 1,800 miles in 72 hours, producing significant snowfall across several states. The storm comes after another winter storm dumped over a foot of snow in the Northeast, causing flight delays and cancellations.
