SoCal school crossing guard loses leg after violent crash
A school crossing guard, Eduardo Villalpando, was severely injured when a speeding vehicle hit him in Lakewood. Having just assisted a group of kids across the street, Villalpando was standing on a corner when a Dodge Challenger, speeding, collided with a Honda Pilot SUV and flew into him, propelling him into the air. Villalpando’s left leg was severed, his right leg badly injured, and he suffered multiple other injuries. Despite the painful ordeal, he remains hopeful about his recovery and return to work. The incident is currently under investigation as Villalpando’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to assist with his medical expenses.
