The latest weather models predict a heavy snowstorm in Michigan accompanied by strong gusts of wind. Most models predict rain reaching into Detroit, Ann Arbor, Monroe, Port Huron, and the southern part of the Thumb, with the possibility of reaching Flint and Saginaw. Snowfall is expected to be 6 to 10 inches in most parts of Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, with a potential for up to 14 inches in the northeast and north-central areas of Lower Michigan. Wind gusts could reach up to 45 mph in most places, with areas around Saginaw Bay, the tip of the Thumb, and the northeast shoreline possibly experiencing gusts around 55 mph. Travel conditions are expected to be dangerous statewide from Friday through Sunday.
