Sheriff’s deputies in Rancho Cordova fire at woman

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office released body-cam footage of an incident where two deputies fired ten shots at Kyrieanna Liles, who was allegedly searching for her lost dog and accused of attempting to run over the deputies. The incident occurred when a couple called the Sheriff’s Office reporting that a woman, later identified as Liles, broke into their backyard with a butcher knife. The footage shows Liles refusing to comply with deputies, driving her car across a lawn towards a deputy, and the deputies subsequently firing at her. Liles was later charged with one count of assaulting a peace officer and pleaded not guilty at her arraignment. The Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating whether the deputies complied with department policy.
