Several men arrested after dispute over secret tunnel in Brooklyn synagogue | New York

A group of men from a Hasidic Jewish community in New York were arrested following a dispute over an illegal tunnel dug into the side of a historic synagogue, the Chabad-Lubavitch world headquarters. The conflict led to a brawl between police and the tunnel’s creators. The purpose of the tunnel, which connected a vacant building behind the headquarters to the synagogue, remains undisclosed. Those involved have been arrested for criminal mischief, trespass and obstructing governmental administration. The New York Police Department has now closed the building pending a structural safety review by city inspectors.
