SEPTA Is Renaming the Market-Frankford Line, Subway, Trolleys

SEPTA is renaming its subway and trolley lines in Philadelphia to simplify navigation for riders. The Market-Frankford Line will now be known as the “L,” the Broad Street Subway will be the “B,” and the subway-surface trolleys will be called the “T.” The new naming system includes color changes, with the Market-Frankford Line’s blue becoming brighter, for example, and the Route 15 Trolley’s green turning yellow. The changes are part of SEPTA’s efforts to streamline the entire system, eliminating language barriers and creating consistency for all riders.
