San Diego State students give back to the community through service and philanthropy
San Diego State University (SDSU) students are committed to giving back through various service-based organizations and Greek life initiatives. The Best Buddies organization fosters friendships between students and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, organizing weekly activities such as collaborative field days with the university soccer teams. Another group, Wishmakers, works to fund local chapters of the Make-a-Wish Foundation through philanthropic efforts. Greek organizations contribute to service initiatives as well, with previous efforts including Kappa Alpha Theta’s annual “Rock the CASA” event, raising funds for Court Appointed Special Advocates for foster youth. The student organization Tijuana Home Build fundraises to construct houses for families in need in Tijuana.
