The incident happened when a construction crew hit a gas line along FM 2218, causing a closure between Bryan and Koeblen roads. Hazmat crews from the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal’s Office and Rosenberg Fire Department responded to the situation. Officials announced at noon that the roadway would be closed for an extended period. By 4:20 p.m., the leak was stopped and the road reopened.
