Rudy Giuliani now won’t testify in defamation trial brought by former Georgia election workers

Former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani has decided not to testify in his defamation trial relating to Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Shaye Moss. The two are asking for millions of dollars in damages, claiming Giuliani’s spread of conspiracy theories about them after the 2020 election caused emotional and reputational harm. Giuliani has already been found liable for defamation and owes Freeman and Moss over $230,000 due to the lawsuit. The decision not to testify came after the workers provided testimonies about the impact of the conspiracy theories on their lives and reputations. Giuliani’s attorney acknowledged that harm was done to Freeman and Moss, but argued that the damages sought were excessive.
