Robots help fill orders at Walmart distribution center in Katy
Walmart has converted an old store into a new facility on Market Place Drive where robots work in collaboration with humans to fulfill online orders. After an online order is placed, robots retrieve the items and deliver them to a Walmart associate for final checks and delivery preparation. The Walmart Robotics system operator claimed that this new system is not eliminating jobs, but creating more and setting up a more efficient system. The facility in Katy, Texas is the second Walmart fulfillment center in Texas, with the other located in Lewisville.
