Revelers watch ball drop in US, around the world to ring in 2024
People around the world welcomed the New Year 2024 with various celebrations. In New York City’s Times Square, thousands gathered to watch the ball drop and enjoy performances by various artists, including Bebe Rexha, Sabrina Carpenter, Ludacris, Megan Thee Stallion, and LL Cool J. Celebrations worldwide included a light show at the Champs-Elysees Avenue in Paris, fireworks at the Acropolis in Athens and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, and gatherings in Beijing, Taipei, and Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach. Due to safety and pollution concerns, major cities in China held quieter celebrations.
