Remains of missing Iowa man found; suspect charged with murder
Jeffrey Gautreaux from Keokuk County, Iowa, was arrested and charged with murder and corpse abuse after investigators found Human remains, believed to be of missing man Craig Smith, outside his home. Smith, who was reported missing on January 20th, was allegedly shot by Gautreaux on January 7th, who then attempted to burn the body. The investigators were led to Gautreaux’s home through data from Smith’s cell phone. The investigation is still ongoing.
