Record apprenticeship graduation fills needs in growing construction industry

Arizona aims to double the number of tradesmen and women by 2026 due to a booming economy and a labor shortage. A record 100 electricians recently graduated from the Phoenix Electrical JATC Apprenticeship Program, which offers four years of classroom time, lab work, and industry apprenticeships. The state is investing heavily in such programs, with the Arizona Apprenticeship Office reporting over 6,400 registered apprentices in more than 16 industries, including construction, healthcare, and IT. The goal is to supply the Arizona economy with skilled workers and offer viable career paths for graduates.
