Rare snow turns Joshua Tree into ‘frosty wonderland’: photos

Joshua Tree National Park experienced a rare snowfall that transformed its arid desert landscape into a frosty wonderland. The snow began at approximately 4,000 feet of elevation and became denser as it reached 5,185 feet. Tourists visiting the park posted stunning photos on Reddit, noting that the park’s visitor center said it only snows once or twice a year. The park spokesman confirmed that the snow melted within an hour. The park had posted a photo of a heavy snowfall from February 2019.
