Pro-Palestinian protest near home of Sen. Dick Durbin brings portion of DuSable Lake Shore Drive to a halt
Thousands of pro-Palestinian protestors gathered outside the home of U.S. Senator Dick Durbin in Chicago, causing a stoppage in traffic on DuSable Lake Shore Drive. The protestors demanded a ceasefire in Gaza and criticized the U.S. for funding the conflict. At least one protestor was arrested, causing further traffic delays. This was the 17th such protest in Chicago since the escalation of the Israel-Hamas conflict, in which more than 22,000 people in Gaza have been killed. The protestors aim to draw attention to the crisis and to seek justice for Palestine.
