A Powerball ticket sold in Michigan has won the $842 million jackpot, the sixth-largest in the game’s history, matching all five numbers and the Powerball in Monday’s drawing. The estimated cash value of the winning ticket is $425 million. Five tickets matched five numbers but missed the Powerball, one of which was sold in Texas and, having selected the Power Play, has doubled its prize to $2 million. This is the third consecutive drawing with a Texas winner of $1 million or more. The Powerball jackpot now resets to $20 million for the next drawing on January 3.
