Police ID man fatally shot near Portland’s Hawthorne Bridge
49-year-old Michael L. Hart was shot and killed near the east side of the Hawthorne Bridge in Portland, as reported by police. The incident occurred near Southeast Main Street and Water Avenue, with witnesses stating an argument took place before Hart was shot. Despite attempts at CPR, Hart died at the scene due to two bullet wounds. Police have made no arrests in relation to the shooting, and it’s noted that Hart’s death is the 70th of 71 homicides in Portland this year. Portland authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
