Pineapple express: Another powerful atmospheric river threatens dangerous flooding in Southern California this weekend

A second and more potent atmospheric river-fueled storm is set to hit Southern California, potentially causing life-threatening flooding. The storm could start on late Saturday night and last for several days, with Southern California and the greater Los Angeles area expected to be most affected. The National Weather Service warned of an unprecedented amount of rain, with totals of 3 to 6 inches expected from late Saturday to Wednesday. The risk of flash flooding is high due to the saturated soil from the previous atmospheric river storm. Additionally, the threat of excessive rainfall on Sunday and Monday may cause damaging and life-threatening flooding in coastal sections of Central and Southern California.
