Philly prisoner Gino Hagenkotter escapes while on work details, officials say – NBC10 Philadelphia

Philadelphia police are pursuing Gino Hagenkotter, a 34-year-old inmate at Riverside Correctional Facility, who escaped during a work detail assignment. Hagenkotter asked for permission to use the bathroom and subsequently did not return. Surveillance footage revealed that he climbed a fence and escaped via the facility’s sanitation yard. It is believed that the postponement of Hagenkotter’s release, triggered by a discovered retail theft incident, may have provoked his escape. This development follows two previous escapes from Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center (PICC) in May, stirring concerns about the center’s security measures.
